Swarkestone and Barrow upon Trent
A short 3.25 mile walk with my daughter one inset day in June 2010. The route follows the River Trent between the two small villages of Swarkestone and Barrow upon Trent just south of Derby. It then takes you along part of the Trent and Mersey Canel until you reach Swarkestone Lock where you can see brightly coloured narrow boats. This walk was taken from the book Derbyshire Walks with Children by William D. Parke and is published by Sigma Leisure.
