The Derwent Valley Heritage Way

Picture
The Derwent Valley Heritage Way is a 55 mile walk along the Derwent Valley from Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District to where the Derwent flows into the River Trent near the historic inland port of Shardlow.

The route takes you through Chatsworth, the Derbyshire Dales and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.  The Derwent Valley Heritage Way is an easy walk that can be completed as a long distance walk or as a series of shorter walks.  I completed this walk backwards in stages in May and June 2010.

Maps required: Explorer OL1, OL24, 259, 260.
