The Dales Way

The River Wharf
The Dales Way is an 82 mile Long Distance Walk from Ilkley in West Yorkshire to Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria.  It passes through two of Englands National Parks, The Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District.  The Dales Way is a relatively easy walk and ideal as an introduction for those wishing to complete a Long Distance Path.

I completed the walk from 22nd to the 26th August 2010 and I used The Sherpa Van Project to help with finding most of my accomodation.  I also used them to transport my luggage between each stop.  Some might say this was cheating but it left me free to carry all needed for the day in my day rucksack.  Please note that this is a very popular walk and I would advise booking your accomodation early as possible.  I booked mine two months in advance and I wasnt able to book exactly where I wanted.  This unfortunately meant that I had to walk a couple of longer stretches that I didnt plan on doing.  However, dispite this I still enjoyed the walk.
